Main Bet: Tyrrell Hatton
Our main selection for this major is Tyrrell Hatton. He finished second in the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart in 2016, which proved how well he can play on links golf. In addition to that result, he also finished tied fourth at Royal Aberdeen, tied 11th at Kennemer, tied fourth at Royal County Down and quarter-finalist at Murcar Links. We cannot forget his wins in Dunhill Links and a tied sixth at Royal Portrush. So, all in all, its impressive linksland record suggests that he can be a protagonist here, and there is good value on his price as well. We believe approach shots and short game can be key here, and Hatton is ranking 11th on the PGA Tour for Strokes Gaines Approach, 49th for Scrambling and 14th for Putt Average.

Rai (Each-Way) To Win

Each Way Bet: Aaron Rai
The second pick of this week is also an Englishman, Aaron Rai. The 26 years olf is a novice on this course but will be very motivated to make a breakthrough beyond European Tour levels. He went to visit Royal St George last month to get ready for this week’s tournament. He has shown to play links golf when he finished tied ninth at the 2018 Scottish Open and followed that up with an impressive win of the same tournament at The Renaissance Club in October last year. He continued his impressive form with a tied third at Fairmont St Andrews in the Scottish Championship.
Since then, his form hasn’t been particularly brilliant, but he still managed a tied 12th in the Irish Open a couple of weeks ago and a positive tied 35th while defending his title last week. He has been arrow straight and scrambling impressively, and it is a links winner, so it is surely worth back him to be in contention, considering he did some homework on this course ahead of this event.
