Following a 5pt EVENS winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Sunday 17th February. P&L +24.96pts.
2:00 Huntingdon- All Is Good 10/3 (1pt)
All Is Good has now dropped below his last winning mark for the first time since a victory off a mark of 108 in January 2018. That was in a handicap hurdle that day and having contested Novice Handicap Chases, he is now rated 105 in that code having started out rated 112.
All Is Good was sent off 4/1 favourite on his last start and travelled well into the race before weakening into 6th place. Connections have given him a wind operation following that run and after a 115 day break as a result he should go well.
2:20 Navan- Bachasson 7/4 (1pt)
Bachasson has a fantastic strike rate in his career so far with 10-17 starts with his form in the last two seasons of F2111F1. Having fallen in the Gold Cup last season, connections have reverted him back to hurdles where he won over 2m4f at Punchestown by over 2 lengths. The form of that run has also been boosted by the runner up Darasso winning the Grade 3 Red Mills Trial Hurdle yesterday.
Bachasson faces Off You Go in this race who has to make the jump from handicaps to this Grade 2, Cracking Smart who ran no race on his return from injury, stablemate Coquin Mans who has been poor so far this season and Tiger Roll and Bless The Wings who are using this as a prep run for the Cross Country at Cheltenham. That should make Bachasson extremely hard to beat and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him sent off favourite for the race.
