Following a frustrating day with second places yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Sunday 16th September. P&L +138.82pts.
2:00 Curragh- Rattling Jewel 16/1 (0.5pt ew)
Rattling Jewel has ran well in five out of his six starts for Joseph O’Brien with form figures of 222021. He won twice at this course last season off marks of 76 and 85 before a win at Listowel on Friday off a mark of 74.
Rattling Jewel runs here off a 7lb penalty but connections have booked Alan Persse for the ride whose 7lb claim reverses that penalty. He is well suited to big field handicaps at the course and should go well at 16/1 with six places on offer.
3:20 Bath- Archimedes 7/1 (0.5pt ew)
Archimedes has a record of 3-6 at Bath with handicap victories coming off marks of 61 and 59. That win off 59 came in June over this C&D and he runs in this race off only 1lb higher.
Archimedes is drawn well in Stall 1 and has front running specialist Franny Norton booked for the ride.
6:00 Curragh- Lucius Tiberius 9/1 (1pt ew)
Lucius Tiberius won his maiden over this C&D before winning a C&D handicap in June off a mark of 93. He followed up off 8lb higher next time (101) before disappointing in a Grade 1 in the USA.
Lucius Tiberius was outpaced over a mile in the Irish Cambridgeshire last time but goes back up to 1m2f here and should go well with Ryan Moore booked off a mark of 103 and five places on offer.
