1:30 Fairyhouse- So Wonderful 11/10 (1pt)
So Wonderful is a well bred filly who has been tried in good company since her debut effort and should prove extremely hard to beat back in a maiden. She finished second behind a now 97 rated rival on debut before finishing behind a stablemate when she finished 5th in a Group 3 on her next start. She didn’t get the best of runs that day and the same could be said when only 10th in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot on her next start.
So Wonderful should gain a confidence boosting win in this maiden before stepping back up into group company later this season.
6:10 Longchamp- Marmelo 2/1 (1pt)
Marmelo won this Group 2 Prix Maurice De Nieuil last season when sent off a well supported 9/10 favourite. He ran well on his next two starts when second in another French Group 2 under a penalty before finishing 2nd in the Melbourne Cup off a big weight.
Marmelo has been campaigned over 1m4f this season where he won a Group 3 on his reappearance before finishing 5th in two Group 1s. This step back up to 1m6f will suit and 2/1 looks generous.
