Following a shocking day yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Sunday 13th January. P&L -2.54pts.
12:20 Southwell- Champagne Mondays 8/1 (1pt ew)
Champagne Mondays broke his maiden tag last time at this course when winning over 6f. That was in a Class 6 classified stakes off a mark of 52 and he should have a fantastic chance off only 1lb higher here in a Class 6 handicap. He stayed on well at the finish over 6f last time looking as if the step up in trip will suit.
Champagne Mondays is the only course winner in the field and should make a bold bid in a race where bookmakers are offering four places each way.
3:10 Kelso- Henryville 7/1 (1pt)
Henryville was bought for £15k in July and transferred to Peter Bowen where he made a strange stable debut over hurdles in December when finishing a tailed off last having made a bold mid race move to go from first to last. He is well handicapped on old form given that he was rated at a high of 156 and now runs off a mark of 137 and will suited by the switch back to chasing.
Henryville made his stable debut without a hood which goes back on today and he can go well in a weak contest now he has dropped into a Class 3 handicap.
