Southampton vs Chelsea Predictions & Betting Tips: Tougher Times For Tuchel?

Southampton vs Chelsea Betting

Thomas Tuchel have had the perfect start to his spell at Chelsea, but if we look at the fixture list, it’s nothing too surprising that the points have come in as they’ve done. Starting with a trip to St Mary’s, there are now some more challenging tasks ahead for Chelsea, and after climbing into the top four, this is now the time to prove that they belong there when we conclude the season after 38 games.

Current Table Position And Home & Away Performances

Southampton have been really poor lately, and the 9-0 defeat to Manchester United is, of course, the stand-out result in a long run of bad performances. Injuries to some of their best defensive players have hurt a lot, and with Danny Ings in and out the eleven and looking for his form again, they just haven’t had any rhythm.

It is starting to look better on that front again, and we have seen Saints do some outstanding performances at home against the bigger teams this season. The odd goal defeats against Man City and Man United, but of course, the victory against Liverpool as the icing on that cake.

Goals Markets Betting Preview

Tuchel is building this Chelsea side from the back, and an own goal from Antonio Rudiger is the only goal they’ve conceded so far since the German’s arrival.
Timo Werner finally found the net as well on Monday, and Tuchel will hope that the combination of solidity at the back and new-found form from Werner will be the key to securing a spot in next year’s Champions League.
Southampton will hope to bring stability back to their defence as well, and we think it will be a low-scoring contest and back Under 2,5 goals.

Betting Preview

Chelsea seem to have found a formula to bring three points back to London even though their displays not always impress. The team looks well-structured and have a belief in their potential again. We think Chelsea will win this at the end of the day but think it’s good value in combining it with the possibility of Under 2,5 goals in total. Maybe 0-2?
