Main Bet: Matthew Wolff

It is clear from the data that some players love to play in Las Vegas while others don’t. When looking at who might win the Shriners Children’s Open, it makes sense, therefore, to look at those players that have performed successfully here.

A strong course form is crucial to consider, and the same can be said for strong tee-to-green numbers. Our main pick for this tournament is Matthew Wolff. The American has delivered some great performances since July 2019, with a win in the 3M Open and also a tied fourth and runner-up in two of his first three majors played. Surely he hasn’t been impressive in the last year, but there are promising signs that he is on the rise again. Also, the form on this course is strong as he finished tied 18th on his debut in 2019 and last year lost a three-way play-off against Laird.

As mentioned earlier, his recent form has shown some positive signs. He was 17th in the WGC-St Jude Invitational in August and the Sanderson Farms Championship last week. His mental state has clearly improved, and there is value in backing him to have another successful week in Las Vegas.

Ryan Palmer (Each-Way) To Win

£20 bet returns £1,220 with Betvictor

Each-way Bet: Ryan Palmer

Surely with a slightly better recent form, the price for Ryan Palmer would be significantly lower than it is now. The last decent performance was at the BMW Championship, where he finished tied 57th. Before that, he was tied 26th at the WGC-St Jude where he also shot middle rounds of 64-68. Two starts earlier, he finished in fourth place at the Scottish Open. He hasn’t played for some time now, but his decent form deserves full consideration. In fact, he was seventh, eight and tied 16th in the last seven starts in this tournament. The 7th place came in 2018 and has also done well elsewhere in this state, with three top 10s at Montreux in the Reno-Tahoe Open/Barracuda in addition to a 17th in last year’s CJ Cup.

If we extend our look to Arizona, we can see that Palmer has finished two times runner-up in the Phoenix Open and recorded three top sixes in the Desert Classic in California. Everything points towards him being in contention here, and the price looks very valuable for an each-way punt.
