Shamrock Rovers are now ten points adrift of the rivals at the top of the Premier Division standings. On the other side, the season is yet to begin in the Maltese top flight as Hibernians did not impress at all in pre-season friendlies, clinching a defeat and a draw in the previous two clashes against domestic opponents.
