Following a 10/11 (20p R4) winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races at Naas on Saturday 9th February. P&L +27.51pts.
1:10 Naas- Empire Escape 13/2 (0.5pt ew)
Empire Escape ran an eyecatching race on hurdling debut in December for Gordon Elliott when finishing a never nearer 5th. He was sent off an unfancied 33/1 that day under Jack Kennedy but was a well backed 5/1 shot when brought down at 3rd hurdle on his next start. Debuchet is favourite for this race but given he has been beaten at odds of 6/5, 9/10 and 13/8 in maiden hurdles he has to be taken on.
Empire Escape looks a solid each way selection and should hit the frame.
2:40 Naas- Konitho 11/8 (1pt)
Konitho was one of three horses bought by JP McManus earlier this week in the build up to Cheltenham having won on stable debut over this C&D. He was sent off 8/1 that day but won impressively by 5 lengths from a solid yardstick in Lethal Steps.
Konitho faces stablemate Band Of Outlaws in this race but that horse looks to be aimed at the Fred Winter at Cheltenham in my opinion and therefore Konitho should prove hard to beat.
