Following 7/2 and 10/3 winners yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Saturday 6th April. P&L +14.95pts.
14:25 Aintree- Brewin’upastorm 7/2 (2pt)
Brewin’upastorm won well on his hurdling debut in December and looked set to win the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle Trial (Grade 2) at Cheltenham on trials day when he fell at the last. He ran a fine race to finish 4th in the Ballymore at Cheltenham and that form was well boosted with the victory of Champ yesterday.
Brewin’upastorm faces the well regarded Angels Breath who was extremely disappointing in the Supreme Novices Hurdle and should be hard to beat.
5:15 Aintree- General Principle 50/1 (0.5pt ew)
General Principle has a nice profile for the race given that he won the Irish Grand National last season. That victory came off a mark of 139 and he races here off 144. His jumping was poor in the Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham last time but if he takes to the fences he should go well.
Bookmakers are offering up to 7 places on the race and at 50/1 General Principle could run into a place.
