3:35 Sandown- The Young Master 10/1 (1pt ew)
The Young Master won this race in 2016 off a mark of 148 following a 3rd place finish at Cheltenham and bids to do the same this year off a 6lb lower mark. He had been badly out of form for a couple of seasons but won on his reappearance this season off a mark of 130 before following up off 135. Those performances were both on good ground before struggling in the Ladbrokes Trophy on soft ground where he was pulled up.
The Young Master bounced right back to form at Cheltenham in the Kim Muir Handicap Chase where he was staying on at the finish over 3m2f to finish 3rd. Over this trip of nearly 3m5f and off 6lb lower than when he won the race, The Young Master looks a fantastic each way selection with six places on offer.
5:15 Sandown- Wait For Me 7/2 (1pt)
Wait For Me won this race in 2017 off a mark of 135 and now runs in the race this year off a mark of 134. He is well suited by the good ground as he showed when he finished 2nd off 142 in 2017 and following a failed chasing campaign he has gradually dropped back down the weights.
This season Wait For Me has finished 3rd off both 137 and 134 so he is coming back to form and I have no doubt that this has been the target all season. He has been well supported since the market opened but still looks worth backing at 7/2.
