Following 25/1, 25/1, 8/1 and 7/1 places yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Saturday 16th March. P&L +14.93pts.
3:35 Uttoxeter- Milansbar 8/1 (1pt ew)
Milansbar is ideally suited to these gruelling long distance handicap chases and has a good record in this race itself. He finished 2nd in this race in 2016 on soft ground off a mark of 145 before finishing 2nd on heavy ground last year off a mark of 142. He runs in the race this year off a mark of 137 but comes into the race on the back of a good effort in a Veterans’ Chase at Newbury when he was staying on at finish over 3m2f.
Most importantly for Milansbar is the fact that Bryony Frost gets back on board. She won the Classic Chase at Warwick on him last season when making all by 11 lengths and the only other time she was on board was when he finished 5th in the Grand National last season. With seven places on offer, I cant see Milansbar out of the frame.
4:40 Limerick- Top Moon 15/8 (2pt)
Top Moon was sent off favourite for a bumper at Naas in January and just failed to catch the leader by a short head at the finish. Derek O’Connor gave him an educational ride that day making headway from last place and was definitely the horse to take out of the race. He then ran in a listed novice hurdle on his next start where he finished a respectable 3rd place despite jumping poorly throughout.
Connections have brought Top Moon back to a bumper today and he should be extremely hard to beat.
