Queen of the South vs Glasgow Rangers – Championship.
Palmerston Park, Dumfries – 21 February, 16:00.
Match Preview and Betting Tips.
We are only few months away from having The Old Firm derby officially back in Scotland Premiership. Glasgow Rangers are without competition this year in Scotland Championship. Their opponents this Sunday Queen of the South are in very tight race for 4th position and participation in playoffs, but if we are going to judge by odds, their chances against one of the most popular teams in this country. Home victory is currently backed up with ridiculously high 65/10 odds, while away victory is currently at 2/5. Both teams are in very decent scoring forms, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of goals here. Surprisingly, Rangers barely took three points from their Sunday opponents in first match this season on Ibrox Stadium. There were down by one goal after the first half, but somehow managed to recover and win thanks to goals of J.Holt and M.Waghorn.
To me, it looks like Queen of the South could have been positioned way better if they somehow managed to balance their matches away from home. They have collected 9 out of possible 15 points in last 5 Championship matches, which is not bad result at all. They are currently in front of Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton by two points, with not many games left to be played.
After failing to earn promotion in their first season in Championship by losing to Hearts, Glasgow Rangers will finally be back to the place where they belong – Scotland Premiership. M.Warburton is the head manager who led them this year, while their attack was directed by amazing M.Waghorn with 20 goals in 24 matches. I believe majority of UK football population can’t wait for next season and eternal derby between Celtic and Rangers.
