When is the World Cup in 2022?
Due to the high temperatures in Qatar during the summer, the World Cup will take place during the winter. The World Cup will start November 20 and last until December 18, ending a week before Christmas!
The group stage will last from November 20—the opening day of the competition—to December 2. The Round of 16 starts the following day, December 3, and lasts until December 6. Then, on the 9th and 10th of December, the Quarterfinals will take place, followed by the Semifinals on the 13th and 14th. The third-place playoff will take place on December 17 and the actual grand final will take place on December 18, which is precisely one week before Christmas.
What are the World Cup schedules for 2022?
Every day of the group stages, except the first two, will feature four matches involving teams from two different groups. After 12 days of great international football, the top two teams from each group move on to the round of 16.
Where is the World Cup taking place?
The FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar this year. The World Cup is known for being very hot, so for the first time ever, it will be held in the winter. This is to protect both the players and the fans from the sun’s strong rays. The matches will be played at 7 stadiums dispersed throughout the state of Qatar, while the final will be held at the 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium.
