The Professional Darts Association separated from the BDO (British Darts Organisation) back in 1992. They immediately took the opportunity to do a deal with Sky Sports television. The likes of Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen have done very well in the PDC World Championship in recent past. On this page, you will find the latest odds on the PDC World Championship so you can place your bets and get higher returns. LIVE Streamed From 19:15 – Michael van Gerwen v Peter Wright Betting Tips: MVG To Resist Snakebite

It is the final that everyone expected at Ally Pally with the PDC World Darts Championship that will close the doors for another year. This is the repeat of 2014 final that saw Michael van Gerwen defeating 7-4 Peter Wright.

Wright will be hoping to get a better result this time and surely has been in great form. Van Gerwen’s class, however, makes him the clear favourite ahead of this cracking match.

‘Snakebite’ is in top form

Wright has played great games in the quarter-final and semi-final. Against Luke Humphries in the quarters he has averaged 105.86, and that was the second-highest recorded at this year’s PDC World Championship.

The Scot looked brilliant in a close semi-final against Price, where he landed an incredible 16 180s and eventually won 6-3. Even if he started as underdog, Wright proved the odds wrong and surely will try to cause the biggest upset yet by defeating the defending champion. Looking at history, he hasn’t got many chances. Of the 78 encounters between those two top players, Wright has only managed to win 17, with 2 draws and 59 defeats. When they met in October in the Champions League of Darts, it was a close affair with the Dutch that prevailed 11-10. Snakebite win in 2017 at the UK Open is his only main victory, which is quite surprising for a player of his class. He seems to have problems managing pressure and has lost all ten of his other finals.

MVG yet to find perfect form in this tournament

Van Gerwen has been in control so far, and there haven’t been opponents who have seriously troubled him. Nathan Aspinall was expected to challenge him seriously in the semi-final, but after a positive start, ‘The Asp’ couldn’t cope and eventually he conceded a 6-3 to Van Gerwen. The feeling is that Van Gerwen could have won his matches even more convincingly, but couldn’t keep the concentration for all the time.

If Wright can keep the level of the last two rounds, then Van Gerwen will have to be fully awake. MVG will head to this final in confident mood, as he has a dominant record over Wright who also has issues in delivering in similar circumstances.

Van Gerwen to defend the title, but Wright to deliver high-scoring

Considering the form of those two players, we would have expected Van Getwen price to bee more ‘meaty’. There is some value to back Wright also considering that the recent Champions League of Darts final was very close.

A way to boost MVG price is to back Wright to score the most 180s and lose the match (1.80), and this is our choice.

Our Verdict: Wright To Get Most 180s And Lose Match

PDC Darts Outright Betting Tips

Name the Finalists

Considering the current form, two players have a very good chance to face each other in the final that will take place on New Year’s Day.

Michael van Gerwen

The Dutchman has a great record on big TV tournaments having won the World Grand Prix, Champions League, World Series Finals and Players Champion Finals in the last few months.

‘Mighty Mike’ has also won this event three times in his career and in the last edition he has lost just one set on his way to the final. It would be a massive surprise not to see him there again.

Gerwyn Price

Price has been playing some terrific darts for a while now, and in November he has successfully defended his Grand Slam crown. In addition to that, he has also reached the final of the European Championships and Players Championship Finals.

‘The Iceman’ has had some issues with crowds in the past, but recently he has won them over in the latest events. The only downside with Price is his record at Ally Pally as the Welshman has never progressed past the third round. This year though, things might change as he has been playing better than ever.

If Price will make it to the final, he certainly has chances of defeating the World Number One. They have met each other four times in the last couple of months with the Dutch who has prevailed in three of those matches. If we do look though in terms of legs during this time, it is 40 each.

The majority of the public would love to have a final between Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price and considering that they are on the opposite sides of the draw, this is feasible. Reaching the final of the World Championship is difficult, but those two have been in great form, and we might see some fireworks on New Year’s Day.

To Win Outright (each-way)

Michael Smith

Michael Smith finished runner up last year, and he is now in the top half of the draw. ‘Bully Boy’ has had a great run in the last edition and was only defeated in the New Year’s Day final by Michael van Gerwen.

This hasn’t been the best season for Smith on tour, but in the summer he was second at the World Matchplay and has since reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and European Championship. When he can find his rhythm, it can be very difficult to defeat.

There is value in backing Smith in this tournament as he will be able to benefit for a rather kind draw. Smith should progress without too many problems until the quarter-finals where he would probably meet one between Anderson, Ratajaski, Aspinall, Hughes or Dolan. Before that he would have to defeat Luke Woodhouse or Paul Lim in the second round, then van den Bergh or Adrian Lewis to get to the last eight. Surely those are all winnable matches for the ‘Bully Boy’.

Considering the favourable draw and also the experience that he accumulated last season, Smith looks a valuable proposition to back to have another very good run at Ally Pally.
