We’re in the middle of the Premier League winter-break, meaning some of the teams had the last weekend off while some will have it during the coming weekend. And some teams were even forced to unexpected rest due to the storm Ciara.

That meant that Manchester City’s game against West Ham was called off on Sunday and Pep Guardiola’s men missed the chance to at least close the gap a little to Liverpool which now still stands on 22 points.

Match Preview & Team News

Gaps’ Increasing

This will both mean that Manchester City will have an extra heavy list of fixtures later on and it will also give Liverpool the chance to go 25 points clear on Saturday.

Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva talked to the press during last week and pretty much-admitted defeat to Liverpool in the race for the title and it’s more or less just a matter of time now until Liverpool have secured their first title in 30 years.

No matter what Manchester City do from here on, all Liverpool need is six victories and we expect one of those to come at Carrow Road.

Top Betting Offers To Take Advantage Of In Norwich City vs Liverpool

Full Week Off

Jürgen Klopp gave his men a full week off even though his team was forced to a replay against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup and they will be rested and ready to go on Saturday.

Sadio Mané and James Milner gave up their vacations to continue rehabilitation and it seems that Klopp will soon have a full squad ready again. Perfectly in time for an important part of the season, where the League shall be won, the Champions League knock out stage starts and the FA Cup – where his young men secured progression – goes into final stages.

Even though Sadio Mané and James Milner now looks likely to be available for the weekend, we’d expect Klopp to take it easy and not force any player into action with even more important fixtures coming up. Liverpool are travelling to Madrid just after the Norwich game and that’s something to take into consideration when looking at potential bets at Carrow Road.

Stronger At Home

Norwich are rock bottom of Premier League but we shall remember that their home stats are far better than what they performed away which even Manchester City had to learn the hard way early in the season. 12 of Norwich’s 18 points have been won at home and 18 of their 24 goals have been scored here as well.

Liverpool won the first fixture between the teams 4-1 at Anfield on the opening day of the season but we expect it to be tighter on Saturday. Liverpool averages two goals per game away from Anfield and we back them to score the same amount on Saturday at Carrow Road.

This means that our first pick for the game is Liverpool To Score Exact Two Goals which we back at 5/2.

Sadio Mané is back in training but as mentioned we think it’s more likely that the Senegalese winger is rested for bigger occasions and that he remains on the bench for the bigger part of this game, as long as his attacking attributes are forced on due to a struggling Liverpool side.

Our First Verdict: Liverpool To Score Exact Two Goals

Salah To Score First

Mo Salah has already been the man to lead the lines in Manés absence during the last couple of weeks and we think the Egyptian King will be a man to trust again on Saturday.

We back Mohamed Salah to open the scoring against the Canaries as First Goalscorer and that’s backed at 10/3.

Liverpool are racing towards the title and Norwich knows that they will have easier tasks to avoid relegation than to take the three points – or even won – from the title winner-to-be in red. Farke’s men have shown that they have highs that surely qualifies them for Premier League football also in the future, but there is a lack of organization and stability which has hurt them so far on to the campaign.

We will have to see what the winter-break have done to the form of both teams but looking at Liverpool from last season they sometimes struggled when they came back from warm-weather-camps having to re-start their runs in the league.

That Liverpool would leave Carrow Road with anything but three points feels highly unlikely but it could absolutely be tighter than many may assume.

Norwich has everything to win and Liverpool haven’t been known for running away with big wins away from home and with that in mind, we expect it to be down to the wire here.

Our Second Verdict: Salah To Score First

Tighter Than Expected?

The home fans will be hoping for Teemu Pukki to add goals to the party and he has been the man to step up on big occasions previously during the season. We back Norwich to get a constellation goal from this but Liverpool to hold on to victory.

We back Liverpool to win 2-1 on the Correct Score market and back our correct result at 8/1.

2-1 is also Liverpool’s most common result through the season so why not go safe when they return to action on Saturday.

Liverpool are on their way to a historic first title in 30 years and Norwich won’t be the team to slow them down to fulfil their dream. But with that said, it can certainly be tighter than many may expect. Norwich played really well when the team met at Anfield on an opening day but were unlucky on that night not to score more than the Pukki-goal they finally got.

They will come out optimistic again on Saturday and both teams will probably need the first 45 to be up n running on full gear from the winter-break. With Liverpool’s tight schedule and the upcoming game against Atletico next week, we also have to keep that in mind as something that might affect exactly how hard Liverpool will go out for this one.

Liverpool will win. But expect it to be quite a tight one.

Our Third Verdict: 2-1 Liverpool Correct Score
