World Wide Technology Championship At Mayakoba Predictions & Tips

Brendon Todd To Win

£20 bet returns £920 with Betvictor

Main Bet: Brendon Todd To Win

Todd has come back since winning here in 2019 and tied for ninth and tied for eleventh place. At this 7,017-yard, par-71 course with three par-5s, he has now played 12 consecutive rounds in the 60s.

Todd has some impressive recent form, but he’s also worth a shot based on course/course type form alone (previous comparable finishes include fourths at Sea Island and Hilton Head). The three-time PGA Tour champion finished tied ninth in his season debut at the Fortinet Championship, and two weeks ago, he was tied seventh at the CJ Cup after finishing tied 28th in Las Vegas. For strokes gained, Todd came in second.

Speaking of putting, Mexico also hosted a PGA Tour event in April, and Todd began with a 64 at that Mexican Open despite faltering later on.
He stated, “I appear to be putting well on this Paspalum grass at the Mayakoba and now here,” following that poor opening round at Vidanta Vallarta. Todd is a bet at 40s when he returns to the Mexico course, which does play to his skills so backing him at this price.

World Wide Technology Championship At Mayakoba Predictions & Tips

Thomas Detry To Win

£20 bet returns £680 (if placed) with Betvictor

Main Bet: Thomas Detry To Win

Despite finishing second last week, his odds are very high here. Yes, he lost the race, but coming in second place was still a great performance and extended his successful start on the PGA Tour. It is reasonable to question his ability to cross the finish line given that he has yet to win on the DP World Tour. But perhaps starting over could be beneficial. Consider this person as the up-and-coming Tommy Detry from the PGA Tour rather than the annoying Thomas Detry from the DP. Detry may have mentally done something similar, and he thinks that he has no scar tissue as he starts his life on the PGA Tour.

He said: ‘For a while, I was aware that my game was good. I switched caddies in May of last year, and it really affected my mindset and demeanour on the golf course. I’ve been playing extremely well since the Scottish Open, in fact. I’ve been doing extremely well on the golf course. I believe I am going to win soon. Who knows, maybe in a few weeks. The level of confidence is strong, so maybe I can maintain it.’

Starting with that top 10 in Scotland, Detry has had a strong recent stretch that includes a fourth-place finish in the Boise Open on the Korn Ferry Tour, a top-five finish at the prestigious BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, a tie for 12th place at the Fortinet Championship, a tie for ninth place at the Sanderson Farms, and a second-place finish in Bermuda last week.

Detry competed in the Bermuda race the year before and finished tied for 22nd, which was a helpful benchmark. He matched for 22nd place on his debut at El Camaleon last year, which is an extraordinary coincidence, so perhaps this time he can go up 21 spots rather than 20. The putter appears hot, and he is consequently ready for a birdie extravaganza, so should likely be in contention.
