The event takes place in Germany, with the host nation already in action on Thursday. The favourites to win the tournament is Wales, who prevailed already in 2020. The Netherlands, which are without Michael van Gerwen, doesn’t seem to have the same strengths as a few years ago, while Scotland, the reigning champions, might struggle to secure another title.

Even if there were rumours that Gerwyn Price could pull out of this year’s event, he will eventually partner with Jonny Clayton for a 5th consecutive year. Wales will face the Philippines in the first match, and it is difficult to think there will be an upset. Joe Cullen defeated Clayton in the Premier League on Monday evening, but the Ferret looked back in shape in Players Championship 17 in Nidernhausen on Wednesday night, where he won the first two matches with impressive averages of 111 and 108.

Price has also improved lately after his hand injury caused him issues at the beginning of the year. The Iceman has been struggling mentally and physically and this event could be the tonic he needs right now. We expect the partnership with Clayton to be one of the strongest in this event and could lead Wales to victory. Despite being the favourites, there is still good value for this to happen, and it looks like a decent bet.
