Main Bet: Trey Mullinax To Win

Trey Mullinax is my top pick for this coming week. The 30-year-old was born, raised, and attended college in Alabama. What does that mean, exactly? This week, we are in a place that is close to Mississippi, so Mullinax will feel at ease immediately. That didn’t start working right away, mostly because Mullinax wasn’t the player he is now.

However, he shot 70-66-64-68 the year before to place fourth, two strokes back of champion Burns. When asked if having local knowledge of courses like this was helpful last year, he responded: “Without a doubt.” I really like them since I grew up in this kind of ruggedness, in these greens. These greens are among the best we play all year; they are unquestionably in the top five. ” Mullinax was 32nd in Par 5 Scoring Average and 26th in Birdie Average last season, which adds further support for why he would perform well in this situation.

Mullinax won the Barbasol Championship in July, giving him his first PGA Tour victory, and he finished the previous season in excellent shape. That was accompanied by a score of -25 to demonstrate his ability to win a birdie shootout (he also prevailed with -23 on the Korn Ferry in 2020). He came fifth in the St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind, another south-east Bermuda course, and 12th in the BMW Championship after that victory.

Mullinax ranked sixth for SG: Putting, while having average putting statistics overall. I was glad to see his MC at the Fortinet two weeks ago as a rust remover after putting on these greens last year. Back the local-ish man at this high price.

Hubbard To Win

£20 bet returns £420 with Betvictor

Main Bet: Hubbard To Win

I placed Mark Hubbard in the Fortinet Championship at an odds of 80/1 two weeks ago, and I’m glad to enter him again at a three-figure price.
In California, Hubbard gave us a respectable showing by shooting a Saturday 67 and placing 9th with 18 holes remaining. Tied 21st was a respectable knock, but it wasn’t to be on Sunday. A run in July that resulted in 13th in the John Deere, third at the Barbasol, and fourth at the Barracuda was a major factor in selecting him for this week bets.

His course form of 51-54-MC-MC—the first two occurring in 2014 and 2015, the latter pair in 2019 and 2020—will be the cause of his increased odds this week. However, there aren’t many tricks to playing this track effectively, and Mullinax had a 73-57-WD-MC course record prior to finishing fourth last year.

Hubbard has the potential to succeed in this situation. Despite being a short hitter, the 33-year-old finished 14th in Par 5 Scoring last season to demonstrate that there are other ways to hit the ball. In the last two seasons, he has finished 50th and 52nd in SG: Putting, and in his most recent start, he was 14th for SGP at the Fortinet. He rolls the rock nicely. With his new home in Texas, Hubbard makes plenty of birdies as well. He drained 23 at the Barbasol and Barracuda, and he’ll like playing a Bermuda course in the heat.
