After the departure of Antonio Conte, Tottenham are back in the hunt for a permanent manager since Cristian Stellini will only be in charge for the last 10 matches of the season. Here at BettingTips4You.com, we have asked our expert Tyler Morris to look at the potential contenders and also make a prediction to take advantage of in the next Tottenham manager market.

Next Tottenham Permanent Manager Odds

This will be the fourth permanent manager since 2019, and despite this being a concerning stat, it was clear that the relationship with Conte was well over. At the top of the betting market, there is a new name: Julian Nagelsmann. BetVictor has him at 7/4.

Last week, Bayern Munich fired the German manager out of the blue, even though the team was still in the running for both the Bundesliga title and the Champions League.

Even if Nagelsmann is only 35 years old, he has accumulated seven years of experience after managing the likes of Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich. With the Bavarians, he has won the Bundesliga title, two DFL-Supercups, and has a 100% win record in this year’s Champions League.

It is not surprising to see that next on the line is Mauricio Pochettino, who left PSG nine months ago and will be willing to get back into action soon. He is best-priced at 4/1 with BetVictor, and again, I am not impressed with this option. Appointing him would be a risky thing to do, despite the fact that it could bring some positive outcomes.

He is popular with fans and knows the club well, but the departure was pretty brutal, and with the possibility of a vacancy at Real Madrid opening up, both Nagelsmann and Pochettino would surely look at that first. It seems that Carlo Ancelotti will move to Brazil to manage the national team, with Los Blancos having the German and the Argentinian as their top choices.

Next Tottenham Permanent Manager Prediction: Luis Enrique

A much more interesting proposition is Luis Enrique, who is out of a job after the unsuccessful World Cup campaign with Spain. He is available at 8/1, so there is much better value on him. The Spaniard has great experience, and the Spurs’ challenge could be potentially very interesting to him.

Luis Enrique has won the treble with Barcelona, and in addition to managing Spain in two spells, he was also in charge of Roma at the beginning of his career. A move to the Premier League could be the next perfect move for him.

From the Premier League, there are two names that might attract Spurs interest, and these are Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi, who are available respectively at 16/1 and 12/1. Both are having great success with their teams and might be looking to take a step up in their careers. Of the two, I prefer Thomas Frank, as even if DeZerbi is having a brilliant season, he has found a team that was already doing wonders under Graham Potter. How much of the results are coming from his work and how much from what his predecessor has set up for him is not clear. Surely De Zerbi did well in the past with Sassuolo and Shakthar, but it would be a risk appointing him to Spurs.

As far as Thomas Frank is concerned, he clearly has done a great job by bringing Brentford up from the Championship and settling them in the Premier League with a strong possibility of qualifying for Europe. The Dane might feel that his work is pretty much complete with the Bees and could be attracted by an offer from Spurs, so at 16/1, this is a great alternative to have with Luis Enrique in this betting market.

Zinedine Zidane (20/1), who is also out of a job as France has confirmed Deschamps, might well at this point go back to club football, but it seems more likely that he will look elsewhere for a club that already has the potential to win immediately. In addition to the managers that are available right away, there is also the possibility that Tottenham will consider the ones that are at work.

Other names that have been mentioned are Ange Postecoglou (20/1), who is the current manager of Celtic. He has done well north of the border since arriving by winning the league and the league cup in the first season, but as we have seen with the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard, having also success in the Premier League after doing wonders in Scotland is not a given.

Ruben Amorim is a young manager who is also pretty high in the Next Tottenham Permanent Manager betting market at 16/1. This is not surprising, as he has showcased what he can do at Sporting CP, where he won the title, and has also defeated Tottenham and Arsenal in his European campaign. Despite these remarkable results, his CV doesn’t really stand up yet against some of the other candidates and would be a big gamble.

Oliver Glasner of Eintracht Frankfurt is now as short as 12/1 with BetVictor. He has a good chance of getting this job after leading Frankfurt to the Europa League title in his first season in charge and then to the last 16 of the Champions League this season. He is still fighting for the German Cup and a top-four finish, and clearly, his profile is attractive. Similarly to Amorim, though, he feels like he might be a second option if Spurs are not able to land some of the big names they are after, and the odds seem short for him as well.

Arne Slot of Feyenoord is another name to consider at 14/1. The Dutchman has impressed in his first season by winning the Eredivisie Manager of the Year award after leading his men to the Europa League final. He is looking to win a treble this season as Feyenoord are currently top of the league, have reached the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup, and will face Roma in a possible revenge of last year’s Conference League final in the Europa League quarter-final. Impressive, but again, one of the names that would be considered after the so-called ‘big ones’, so there is little value in his price at the moment.

Cristian Stellini is also in the running to secure the full-time job for next season. He is currently at 16/1, and his only chance is that Spurs will end the campaign on a high and increase his status that way. In reality though, he is unexperienced and hasn’t really shown a great deal of improvement during the period he was in charge of the team due to Conte’s illness, so I wouldn’t put any money on him to be fair, who is also very much still strongly linked with the former Juventus manager on a personal and professional level.

If you really want to try to make a splash in this market, you can also opt for a complete outsider. In fairness, I would be very surprised if Tottenham will not appoint any of the aforementioned managers, but all can happen, as we have seen when Levy decided to appoint Nuno Santo in 2021, so let’s take a look at what we have available.

Former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is available at 40/1 to get back to the Premier League as Spurs manager. The Argentine did excite the Premier League in his first season before things started to turn bad. He has been out of a job for a full year now, and his next step seems to be either a move to Athletic Bilbao or a return to River Plate. There has been some interest from Everton, but this route also seems very unlikely.

Daniel Levy likes to appoint high-profile names, and I would probably put a small bet on Diego Simeone at 33/1. Prize him away from Atletico won’t be easy, but he has surely appeals, having won two league titles and two Europa League cups with Atletico in addition to other domestic trophies and two Champions League final appearances.

Massimilano Allegri has had a very inconsistent campaign with Juventus but has shown himself to be resilient, and even with a -15 point penalty, he might still deliver a top-four finish, and Juventus is still in the running for the Europa League trophy. With all the managerial changes at Juventus, big changes are expected in the summer, and that could also involve Allegri, who could be tempted by another challenge, especially in the Premier League. He is currently available at 20/1, which is a bit short considering the actual possibilities that he will land the Spurs job.

Other two options at 25/1 are Vincent Kompany and Michael Carrick, who are both impressing in the Championship. Despite Burnley and Boros flying starts, both are likely to stick with their current teams for at least another season, as moving now to Spurs would be a too big a step up even for young and hugely talented managers.
