So really, it won’t be a ‘New Dawn, but the more correct label for a win on Saturday should be ‘I am still around’. Jokes apart, this is a must-win for Joshua, who would then be able to plan the next step probably against the likes of Joe Joyce, Dillian Whyte, Daniel Dubois, or maybe even finally against Tyson Fury.

After all, Joshua did look good in both the Ruiz and Usyk rematches, and a performance like that one could be enough to get a rather convincing win against a decent Franklin. The O2, after all, was the place where Joshua has very good memories after dismantling Charles Martin and Dominic Breazeale.
