Main Bet: Hideki Matsuyama
There have been several different winners of this event in the last few years at the Riviera, designed by George C. Thomas Jr. and William P. Bell and featuring Kikuyu grass. Our main tip for this week is Hideki Matsuyama, who ranked 5th for SG: Approach when finished tied eighth at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last week. It has been a great season so far for the 29-year-old who has won already two times: firstly, he got the silverware CJ Cup and then won the Sony Open last month. It looks as he is back to the 2016 season when he won four times in five starts. The Japanese ace is a fan of a tough test and has great memories here at Riviera. He loves the greens here, and it can strike the ball well, so it looks value at this big price, and it is our main bet for the week.

Thomas Pieters (Each-Way) To Win
£20 bet returns £1,340 with Betvictor

Each-way Bet: Thomas Pieters
Our each-way punt for this week is Thomas Pieters, who played some excellent golf at the Abu Dhabi Championship last month. That event came just two starts after he secured the Portugal Masters. The Belgian also finished tied fourth on his Masters’ debut in 2017 and tied sixth in the following year’s US PGA. He loves to play at the Riviera when he finished runner-up, and considering that he is playing great golf right now, he will likely be in contention until the end. After Abu Dhabi’s win, he ended tied 12th at the Dubai Desert Classic and tied 24th in the Saudi. Pieters also ranked 1st for Greens In Regulation and second in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, which has also been a critical stat here at Riviera. When the field is strong, Pieters tends to rise to the occasion, and now that he is back to 31st in the world, he will also be keen to be a protagonist this week.
