The CJ Cup Predictions & Tips

Tyrrell Hatton To Win

£20 bet returns £720 with Betvictor

Main Bet: Tyrrell Hatton To Win

This week, Tyrrell Hatton is a good bet at 40/1. When Congaree hosted the Palmetto 16 months ago, Hatton shot 10-under to place among the six runners-up, one back of unexpected winner Garrick Higgo. His statistics for that week were impressive. Hatton gained a significant 14.55 strokes Tee-to-Green (1st), but he putted horribly. For those who made the cut, he finished 64th out of 68 in SG: Putting, falling behind the field by more over three strokes. It appeared like the flatstick was the main issue.

“I genuinely feel like I haven’t really putted that well for a long now. That’s a huge part of it. It helps you gain momentum, and you sort of feel a few inches taller walking to the following tee. Yeah, I just don’t feel like I’ve had that for a while.”

Right now, it doesn’t appear to be the case. Hatton recently placed in the top 10 at both the Italian Open and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He came in ninth at the Italian Open and thirteenth at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship for SG: Putting. Although last week’s tournament in Japan didn’t record any statistics for strokes gained, he once again played well on the greens, suggesting that he will putt these Congaree greens more accurately this time.

Hatton wasn’t quite at his best at the ZOZO, but his rounds of 70-70-70-68 weren’t too bad either, and I’m glad to believe that his course form and a third place finish at Hilton Head last year—a location less than an hour away from Congaree GC—are better indicators of his likelihood of success this week.

And last, I like his standing as a course horse. In three consecutive appearances at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, he finished first, second, and second. He had finished in the top four on the same course a few years before his PGA Tour victory at Bay Hill. In March, he also came in second place at Arnie’s competition. All of that must be good news for Hatton as he returns to a course where he came close to winning the last time he played it.

Brian Harman To Win

£20 bet returns £160 (if placed) with Betvictor

Main Bet: Brian Harman To Win

Last year’s winner was an excellent left-hander named Garrick Higgo, so I’m going to aim for a repetition and back Brian Harman at 66.
Since late June, the American lefty has made eight starts and has played well, earning three top-10 finishes and two further top-20 finishes.
The top six finish at the Open Championship, third place at the St Jude Championship, and eighth place at the Travelers are among the highlights.

The last time Harman was seen was two weeks ago at the Shriners in Las Vegas, where he finished with a 64. This suggests that Harman’s solid form is still there, even though he may have gotten rusty while he was away for a long time after the Tour Championship.
The American has had several top-10 finishes and a run of 28-13-25 in the last 3 events at neighbouring Hilton Head.
Brad Faxon threw me a ball when I was about 11 years old. He stated this when speaking there this year: “I played when I was 16. I’ve been coming here now since I was in high school to watch.”

It is a fantastic golf course. It’s a truly special tournament, and the location is fantastic. Since Harman is from nearby Georgia and attended college there, he is likely familiar with Congaree or at least courses of a similar nature. His good approach play and good stats from the tee to the green are good signs, so hopefully his local knowledge will help him on the greens, where he has been struggling lately.
At 66/1, take him.
