The prominent name and the top seed at the ATP Metz, also known as the Moselle Open, is Daniil Medvedev. The Russian is attempting to recover from losing to Nick Kyrgios in the US Open’s round of 16 earlier this month.
Since Medvedev lost the top rank as a result of that defeat, he will be determined to make up for it in Metz. The defending champion, Hubert Hurkacz, who defeated Pablo Carreno Busta in the tournament’s final last year, will be his biggest rival in the ATP 250 event.

Second seed Metz Hurkacz would have been disappointed to lose in the second round of the US Open, but he has had more than enough time to prepare for this competition, and just last month he made a strong showing by making it all the way to the ATP Montreal final, in which he defeated players like Kyrgios and Casper Ruud.
Hurkacz appears to be a solid overall choice in France.

As he prepares for the Laver Cup, which begins later this week and will be Roger Federer’s final official professional competition, the Norwegian Ruud, who won the first edition of the ATP San Diego last year, will not return to defend his championship at the ATP 250 event. Dan Evans of Great Britain is now the tournament’s top seed because Ruud isn’t playing, and he can support that claim.

Evans, who received a bye into the 2nd round of the ATP San Diego along with Jenson Brooksby, Marcos Giron, and Pedro Martinez, appears to be a good value at this price. Evans did not perform well at Wimbledon this past summer, but he stated he does not enjoy the pressure of competing on grass courts. Evans has improved greatly since switching to the USA hardcourts.
Evans is a good choice because he advanced to the final four of the ATP Montreal and played admirably against Marin Cilic before losing in the third round of the US Open.
