Following a busy week with the Qatar Goodwood Festival and Galway Festival last week, Steve Ryder has 3 selections to kick off the week. P&L +11.89 pts
2:45 Ripon- Bourbonisto 15/8 (1pt)
A poor quality Selling handicap should result in Bourbonisto breaking his maiden. He is the only horse in the line up that has been running consistently well recently with RPRs of 64, 64, 62, 59 and 62. Despite this, he has dropped from a mark of 70 down to 61 and with Silvestre De Sousa riding for the first time he rates a confident selection.
6:45 Windsor- Clear Spring 10/3 (1pt)
Clear Spring bounced back to form at Newmarket last time when finishing second in a Class 3 handicap over 6f. He runs in the same conditions today at Windsor, a venue where he has won off a mark of 93 and finished a good 4th off 102 last season. His last win came off a mark of 97 and runs off a 13lb lower mark today. This mark of 84 is the same handicap mark that he finished 2nd off last time at Newmarket and he looks sure to go well over a C&D we know he acts at.
8:30 Carlisle- Thorntoun Care 4/1 (1pt ew)
The meeting at Carlisle on Monday is restricted to female jockeys only. Thorntoun Care gets the services of Sammy Jo Bell who easily is the best jockey in this race. Since Thorntoun Care has been running in cheekpieces, his form figures read a superb 212 with form of these races looking strong. The horse who defeated him at Hamilton, Donnachies Girl, has won two handicaps since and the horse who defeated him last time, Regal Mirage, was completing a four timer that day. Thorntoun Care remains off the same mark of 64 than when a nose second last time and should have a huge chance under Sammy Jo Bell.
