Following a blank day yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Monday 25th March. P&L +10.28pts.
2:30 Lingfield- Kafeel 14/1 (0.5pt ew)
Kafeel won at the course twice last season off marks of 58 and 64 and now runs here off a mark of 57. He has been poorly out of form this season but hasn’t been fitted with any headgear in those runs.
Kafeel showed his best form in blinkers last season and is now fitted with a first time visor for this race. Bookmakers are offering four places each way and if the headgear prompts a revival, he could be involved at the finish.
2:45 Wincanton- Secret Investor 11/10 (2pt)
I fancied Secret Investor for a Grade 2 Novices’ Chase at Kempton last month so I have to fancy him for this five runner Novices’ Chase. He ran well to finish 2nd behind Bags Groove in a Grade 2 on his chasing debut before finishing 2nd again in a listed race behind Ok Corral.
Secret Investor faces Jenkins in this race who has to concede 5lb to the selection and that should sway things in Secret Investor’s favour.
4:00 Lingfield- Gumball 11/10 (1pt)
Gumball was a good juvenile hurdler who finished 2nd in the Grade 1 at Aintree last season before making a brilliant flat debut at Kempton last time. He beat the high class Verdana Blue that day with the two pulling 10 lengths clear of the third.
Gumball made all that day ad if Oisin Murphy can adopt similar tactics in this race then he should be hard to beat.
