Following a poor day yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Monday 22nd July. P&L +93.94pts.
6:15 Windsor- Mild Illusion 4/1 (1pt ew)
Mild Illusion ran well to finish second on debut at Newbury in a race that trainer Jonny Portman sponsored. She was no match for the highly regarded winner that day but stayed on well at the finish despite being slowly away and running green early on in the race.
Mild Illusion will have no doubt come on for her debut effort and if should be able to trouble the favourite who has a similar profile.
9:00 Beverley- John Caesar 10/1 (0.5pt ew)
John Caesar finished second in this race last season under Danny Tudhope when facing the impossible task of trying to give Bollin Joan weight. That rival won the race by nine lengths off a mark of 52 and ended the season off a mark of 71.
John Caesar has been quiet so far this season but as a result has dropped down to a mark of 44 (finished 2nd off 50 last season) and Danny Tudhope now gets back on board for the first time this year. With five places available he looks to hold strong each way claims.
