Following an 8/1 winner yesterday at Southwell, Steve Ryder previews two races on Monday 15th January. Jan P&L +10.10pts.
2:15 Ayr- Mac N Cheese 3/1 (1pt)
Mac N Cheese returns hurdling after two runs over fences. Despite not winning on either start, the form of his first run over fences has been boosted with the winner Lough Derg Jewel winning again on his next start and the second Chateau Robin repeating that position on his next start too. Mac N Cheese was then going well when falling seven out and now reverts back to hurdles off a 2lb lower mark. His last two runs over hurdles were victories on heavy ground so we know he will handle conditions and is a worthy favourite for the race.
5:40 Wolverhampton- Mythical Madness 7/2 (1pt)
Mythical Madness won this race off a 3lb higher mark last year and he has had exactly the same prep run as last year too. It looks like a two horse race as the other rivals apart from Humbert are out of form. Humbert won a maiden on his first start for Hugo Palmer last time but could ‘bounce’ as this is only a month after his first start since 15 months off. Adam Kirby is riding well at present with a 24% strike rate and can hopefully repeat his victory of last year.
