Following a 2/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Monday 11th March. P&L +16.22pts.
3:40 Stratford- Ekayburg 4/1 (1pt)
Ekayburg joined the David Pipe Stable with a big reputation having won two bumpers in France including a Grade 2 by 4 lengths. He was sent off a 13/8 favourite for a Chepstow bumper where he weakened late on after over a year off before finishing 3rd at Leicester last time when sent off 6/5.
There is no doubt that Ekayburg has been disappointing in the UK so far but he now makes his handicap debut off a mark of 112 and also has his first run since a wind operation.
4:55 Plumpton- Polar Light 6/1 (0.5pt ew)
Polar Light showed very little in three maiden hurdles for new connections but was sent off 50/1, 25/1 and 150/1 in those races. He made his handicap debut off a mark of 89 last time where he was sent off a 25/1 shot but ran well to finish 2nd behind the favourite.
On his flat form, Polar Light will be suited by the drop back down to 2 miles and looks well handicapped off the same mark of 89 in this race.
7:00 Kempton- Fuwairt 10/1 (0.5pt ew)
Fuwairt won well off a mark of 77 when trained in Ireland but also won well for new connections over this C&D two starts ago off a mark of 78. He didn’t get the clearest run last time at Lingfield when he could only finish 6th but this return back to Kempton should suit a lot better with the cutaway.
Fuwairt runs here off a mark of 80 so he should still be well handicapped and looks a good each way bet.
