Following two frustrating second placed finishes, Steve Ryder previews three races on Monday 10th July. P&L +70.32pts.
3:00 Leicester- Hellovaqueen 11/2 (0.5pt ew)
Hellovaqueen lost his form after winning a maiden on his reappearance last season. He has dropped back down from a mark of 75 down to 67 after three disappointing runs on the AW.
Hellovaqueen drops into a seller for his reappearance and should also be suited by a return to turf and could go well.
6:35 Pontefract- Michael’s Mount 13/2 (0.5pt ew)
Michael’s Mount ran extremely well to finish 4th at Chester last time given that his jockey went for home a circuit too early. He was given a breather after that error but remained in the lead until 2f of the 2m2f race.
Michael’s Mount drops slightly in trip for the race today and with Silvestre De Sousa booked he should run well with one bookmaker offering four places.
8:05 Pontefract- Round The Island 10/1 (0.5pt ew)
Round The Island has fantastic form at Pontefract with wins coming off marks of 61, 58, 61 and 67 and lots of placed efforts. He has ran disappointingly at Beverley on his last two starts but as a result has dropped down from a mark of 66 to 60 for this race.
Round The Island will be well suited to a return to Pontefract and he should run well with four places on offer.
