Main Bet: Adam Long

The last PGA Tour event of what has been a unique calendar year takes us to Mexico. There are plenty of betting opportunities as the presence of Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka means that odds are valuable elsewhere.

Our main pick for this tournament is Adam Long, who finished second here last year. That result followed up a top-six on his previous trip to Mexico in the Korn Ferry event. He has been in excellent shape recently and was fifth at the Corales Puntacana six starts ago. The main correlation with this week is that both tournaments have Paspalum grass. More recently he finished second at the 3M Open and also a respectable tied 13th at the US Open and 11th at the Houston Open just two events ago. He is good on iron play as he ranked in the top eight for greens in regulation in both Houston and RSM Classic. This should be another week as a protagonist for him and at this big price makes plenty of appeals.

Brian Stuard (Each-Way) To Win

£20 bet returns £1,520 with Betvictor

Each Way Bet: Brian Stuard

If you are looking for an outsider you cannot forget Brian Stuard. The 37 years old has done very well in these types of courses on his career. He finished second at El Camaleon on his first two visits in 2010 and 2013. In 2017 he finished ninth, and he has an excellent record with the Sony Open which strongly correlates with this week’s event as four players have won both recently.

Recently hasn’t made big headlines, although he finished third in the Safeway Open in September. Indeed he is not the most skilled golfer in this field, but in those types of events Stuard can be in contention especially if his irons can stay sharp. Backing him on each-way looks the way to go with those very high odds on him.
