January Transfer Window Betting: James Rodriguez to sign for Arsenal

Rodriguez

The January Transfer Window will be an intense 31 days where teams will be looking for reinforcements, additions and replacements. It is a period where there are endless rumours every hour, and by the time the window will close at 11pm on January 31st, a big number of players will have a new home.

Last year, Premier League clubs invested £180m on January transfers alone. A significant decrease in the previous year when the total spend reached £430 million.

Liverpool have already secured a £7.25m deal for RB Salzburg’s attacking midfielder Takumi Minamino. Many Premier League clubs will be keen to make some adjustments in January so it is likely we are going to see the spend rising again this year. Before we take a look at some of the possible deals, let’s look at what is the best bookmaker for transfer betting.

Best bookmaker for transfer betting?

We have analysed several operators, but the one we prefer for transfer betting is Betvictor. They have a great variety of transfer market options, with best odds and opportunities. If you like placing a bet on the transfer market, but generally on anything we suggest you to sign up for a Betvictor account. January Transfer Window: Daily Update

James Rodriguez – Real Madrid to Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is still waiting on new players despite this should have been a busy window for Arsenal. Things are apparently moving though as the Gunners have been linked with Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. Everton also seem to be interested in the 28-year old Colombian. Real Madrid are asking £34million and are interested only in permanent deals.

Edinson Cavani – PSG to Atletico Madrid

It looks as Atletico Madrid are within touching distance to sign PSG’s Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan striker has agreed the move to the Spanish capital and in doing so has delivered a blow to both Man Utd and Chelsea who are interested in his services. The Red Devils have offered £10 per year to move to Old Trafford but even that wasn’t enough to convince the striker.

Jerome Boateng – Bayern Munich to Arsenal

Arsenal are keen to resolve their defensive issues both in the short and in the long term. The Gunners’ target for January is Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng. The idea is to get him on loan until the end of the season. Arsenal are also following closely RB Leipzig man Dayot Upamecano who should be the long term choice as a central defence. To secure him Arsenal will have to pay around £50million and the move won’t take place before the summer.

Wilfried Zaha is making headlines again as the latest information we have suggests that Chelsea are now targeting the Crystal Palace player and has made a bid to land Zaha ahead of Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham. We understand the Blues are ready to make a record offer to tempt the Eagles to let the player go already this month.

Everton Soares – Gremio To Everton

Everton are still looking to close the deal with Brazil and Gremio winger Everton Soares, according to several reports. The Brazil’s star won at the Copa America last summer and the Toffees would like to secure him ahead of other Premier League clubs also seeking the 23-year old. Gremio’s executive director Klauss Camara said to Brazilian media that: ‘Everton going to Everton is possible but we are waiting for a formal proposal’.

Jesse Lingard – Manchester United to AC Milan Or Inter Milan

It looks as Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has been offered to a total of four clubs which includes the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan. His agent Mino Raiola is trying to negotiate a way out from Old Trafford. The 27-year old has been in disappointing form at United for more than a year, and a move to a different club could help re-starting his career.

Timo Werner – RB Leipzig to Real Madrid

It looks as Real Madrid are making a clear move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, according to rumours in Germany. The 23-year old has been in shining for Die Roten Bullen in this campaign and even if he has signed a new contract back in August, has attracted full attention of Zidane. Los Blancos have the financial muscles to tempt RB Leipzig in what would be a very high-fee transfer.

Eddie Nketiah – Arsenal to Norwich

Arsenal striker Nketiah didn’t make it at Championship side Leeds, but his next move could take him to the Premier League. The striker is, however, still chased by a number of Championship clubs, especially Bristol City.

The latest rumours, however, are pointing towards Carrow Road. Apparently, the Canaries have secured his signature on a loan basis.

Nathan Ake – Bournemouth to Chelsea

Another player that could improve Chelsea’s defence is Bournemouth star Nathan Ake. The Dutch defender was already with the Blues from 2011 to 2017 as a young player and could tick plenty of the right boxes for Frank Lampard. Chelsea do have a £40m first refusal buy-back clause into the deal that saw Aka moving to Bournemouth in 2017, and they will have to act now before that clause expires in the summer.

Manchester City are also admirers of Ake, but it is understood that the 24-year-old will prefer a return to Stamford Bridge instead.

Olivier Giroud – Chelsea to Inter Milan

Rumours emerging from Italy are suggesting that Oliver Giroud has agreed terms with Inter Milan and is due to move to the Italian club in January. The experienced French striker, who has his current Chelsea contract expiring in the summer, is keen to move to Italy in January but the clubs would still need to settle a free.

Dayot Upamecano – RB Leipzig to Arsenal

Arsenal look determined to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano but it is unclear if they will have to wait the summer to land their man. The value of the centre-half has been set at around £45m, but the Gunners seems to be lacking funds at the moment to push the deal for the 21-year old already in January. Negotiations are continuing tough.

Harry Winks – Tottenham to Manchester City

Manchester City are looking to acquire Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks according to recent rumours. The 23-year-old is not being considered by new Spurs coach Jose Mourinho and a move away from London could be a possibility. It seems that Manchester United have also expressed an interest in getting the services of the England international so we might see a derby for him in the next week or so.

Ben Chilwell – Leicester City to Chelsea

Now that the transfer ban has been lifted, Frank Lampard can dip into the January market to add some experience to his youthful Chelsea team. The defence undoubtedly requires some improvements and Leicester could be the place to start. Talented left-back Ben Chilwell is high in the list for the Blues. The price for him could be more than the £80m Manchester United paid for Harry Maguire last summer. The 23 years old England international has had a very good season for the Foxes and, considering that Leicester are chasing a place in the top four, it will take lots of millions to convince them to sell.

Christian Eriksen – Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid

It has been a rather difficult season for Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and his seven-year spell in North London is getting closer to an end. The 27-year-old contract will end in the summer of 2020, so we expect Tottenham to make the last push to try collecting a transfer fee. Both Real Madrid and Manchester United are interested in his services with Los Blancos who are in driving position. The Dane could be a significantly cheaper alternative to the French World Cup winner Pogba that is also a target.

James Rodriguez – Real Madrid to Everton

Real Madrid have been trying to sell Colombian international James Rodriguez for around a year, and the latest rumours are saying that Everton might be interested.

Carlo Ancelotti has already worked with Rodriguez both at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Real Madrid, however, are asking £43m for the striker and that might be a sticking point for the Toffees.

Jarrod Bowen – Hull City to Aston Villa

Jarrow Bowen is one of the most appealing players in the Championship and Aston Villa are the closest side to get his services. The Villans would benefit from the prolific 23-year old winger in their attempt to avoid an immediate relegation just a year after their promotion. Dean Smith’s men have scored just 1 goal per game in their last 12 Premier League outings and with Bowen could be of great help in that sense.

Nemanja Matic – Any Italian club

Veteran Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic is struggling to find minutes at Old Trafford and could be looking for a different solution. The 31-year old is not in the plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and there are rumours that Milan and Inter Milan would like to have his services. Scott McTominay’s knee injury could stop any move for Matic, but it is believed that United might be looking to the market for other midfield options.

Paul Pogba – Juventus

Even though they are in the driving seat, Real Madrid might have rivals for Pogba. The midfielder has done well with Juventus and a return could be possible also because Manchester United have targeted in the past Adrian Rabiot that is not currently not finding much space in Turin. The Italians will be hoping to use Rabiot to meet United’s request of around £85 million for the French World Champion. That would be £4 less than Juventus sold him back in 2016.

Christian Eriksen – Inter Milan

Rumours from Denmark are saying that Christian Eriksen’s move to Italy is almost done. Inter Milan has had a £17 million bid accepted with Tottenham. It remains to be seen if Antonio Conte’s team will be able to meet Dane’s expectations. As we all know, he is not in a hurry to move in January as in the summer he will be free to choose a team with Tottenham that will lose all the transfer fee.
