Herbert To Win

£20 bet returns £1,220 with Betvictor

Main Bet: Lucas Herbert

In Bermuda last year, Lucas Herbert made his PGA Tour debut, slamming a couple of 65s mid-tournament to set up the move and winning the tournament with a strong Sunday 69. He’s had a bit of an up-and-down period since then, but top 15 results in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, PGA Championship, Open, and BMW Championship serve as a reminder of his class.

With 13 top-30 finishes in 19 starts and two victories over the last three years on the DP World Tour, Herbert has excelled (at the 2020 Dubai Desert Classic 2021 Irish Open).

The greens are another example. The greens are as outstanding as any putting surfaces I have seen, according to Jay Townsend, who also states that “if you hit a nice putt, it is going in.” Herbert finished first in the SG Putting rankings during the 2021/22 PGA Tour season and makes it a strong candidate for a win in Italy this week.

Min Woo Lee (Each-Way) To Win

£20 bet returns £110 (if placed) with Betvictor

Each Way Bet: Min Woo Lee

The next pick is another Australian, who has good experience of this track. Min Woo Lee finished third for SG Tee to Green last year as a result of his great play off the tee and around the green, as well as his reliable approaches.

He was able to finish T12th by carding 64-68, which gave him a two-shot advantage going into the weekend. He’s had a difficult PGA Tour season, but I just have to wonder if last Friday’s rest day didn’t help. He was forced to spend the day away from the range because it was closed, so he travelled to London and even went for a stroll past Buckingham Palace. He said that simply being with my pals again and seeing familiar faces was good. He crushed a fantastic 62 the following day.

He finished T42nd with a 70, but that’s okay. Here, we’re looking for hints rather than the detailed report that flags him. Hopefully, a second week filled with familiar friends, thoughts of last Saturday, and a reacquaintance with the track will result in additional progress, and there is very good value in the each-way market for him.
