Following a 9/2 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races at Punchestown on Tuesday 18th February. P&L +5.57pts.
3:50 Punchestown- Barrington Court 6/1 (0.5pt ew)
Barrington Court was a high class bumper horse who finished 2nd in a bumper at the Punchestown festival in 2018 before winning a listed bumper by 10 lengths on her next start. She ran well on her first start over hurdles behind the top class Relegate before finishing lame on her only other start that year.
Barrington Court made an encouraging return in September when 3rd at Listowel despite being noticeably weak in the market before the off and she should be involved in the finish today.
4:50 Punchestown- Mick The Jiver 11/4 (1pt)
Mick The Jiver is clearly well handicapped on his return to hurdles given that he is rated 34lb lower in comparison to his mark over fences. In the last year he has won off marks of 122 and 126 over fences including when winning by 3 ¼ lengths at Navan on his penultimate start.
Mick The Jiver was beaten off a mark of 100 on his previous start over hurdles but was in no form over fences at the time and he should therefore prove hard to beat today off a mark of 99.
