2:05 Curragh- Lil Grey 6/1 (0.5pt ew)
Lil Grey is a consistent filly who went one better on her second start when she won over C&D in June. She defeated the 100 rated Year Of The Tiger and 104 rated Alligator Alley that day before going on to finish 6th in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. She has since placed twice at this course in a Group 3 and listed race with the form of her last race being boosted by Millisle winning in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
Lil Grey disappointed at Newmarket last time where the favourite Tango finished in front of her but it is interesting that the Aidan O’Brien filly runs without headgear today. Lil Grey looks clear second best in this field on figures and could upset the favourite.
4:35 Limerick- Nambour 10/1 (1pt)
Nambour is a fascinating contender for the Munster National and has been well backed in recent days. He was a high class bumper horse who also finished second in two Grade 2 novice hurdles in 2016. He won on chasing debut at Galway the following season in a strong beginners chase before finishing 3rd in the Florida Pearl Novice Chase.
Nambour returned from a 3 year absence last time at Navan and was travelling well before falling 5 out. He is really interesting off a mark of 132 and it seems significant that he appears the stable number 1 for this valuable handicap.
