Following a blank day yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Thursday 12th September. P&L +30.11pts.
2:40 Doncaster- Dame Malliot 2/1 (1pt)
Dame Malliot is unlucky not to be unbeaten in her career so far and has been impressive in her last two victories. She won a listed race at Newmarket over 1m4f by five lengths on good ground before winning a Group 2 over in France over 1m4f on heavy ground.
Trainer Ed Vaughan stated after the race that she hated the ground so the return to a fast surface will suit and with Frankie Dettori retaining the ride I would hope Dame Malliot could upset the favourite
2:50 Epsom- Gazton 22/1 (1pt)
Gazton ran well on debut over 1m2f to finish 2nd behind Harrovian who is now rated 91 and ahead of Alhaazm who is now rated 79. He ran at the same venue over a mile on his next two starts where he finished midfield so this step back up to 1m2f on handicap debut looks a good move.
Gazton makes his handicap debut off a mark of 73 which could prove lenient based on his debut run and he could spring a surprise.
3:15 Doncaster- Harpocrates 11/2 (2pt ew)
Harpocrates took a big step forward last time in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes last time in first time blinkers and if they have the same effect then he is hard to oppose in this sales race.
Harpocrates is top rated in the field but isn’t top weight and on these terms should make a bold bid from the front with five places on offer. (6/1 available but with only 3 places)
