Following 4/1 and 7/4 winners yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Monday 7th October. P&L +39.11pts.
3:40 Windsor- Crystal King 5/1 (1pt)
Crystal King contested the Old Borough Cup last time and put in a bold bid from the front under Richard Kingscote. At 4f he had built up a 20 length lead before weakening inside the final furlong to finish 11th.
That run was over 1m6f at Haydock on soft ground so this drop back to just under 1m4f will suit Crystal King and hopefully Ryan Moore can give him a more conservative front running ride.
4:10 Windsor- George Of Hearts 8/1 (0.5pt ew)
George Of Hearts has often looked like he could be a 100+ rated performer but has also looked disappointing on a few occasions. A wind operation and gelding operation didn’t do the trick last year and he has now moved to the George Baker stable.
For previous connections he was campaigned over 6f, 7f or a mile but he ran with credit over 1m2f on stable debut last month. That meant he dropped a further 3lb to a mark of 79 and George Of Hearts now looks extremely well handicapped seeing as he rated 92 last season. With bookmakers offering four places each way he looks a good each way selection.
4:20 Stratford- Kapsize 14/1 (1pt)
Kapsize was a big gamble last time having had a wind operation and being fitted with a tongue tie and blinkers. He travelled well under Brian Hughes but jumped left handed throughout over fences and lost too much ground before finishing a tailed off 6th.
Kapsize will appreciate the switch to a left handed track and hurdles and could justify the market support last time.
