Following a second place yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races at Cheltenham on Friday 13th December. P&L +28.17pts.
1:20 Cheltenham- Ecu De La Noverie 15/2 (0.5pt ew)
Ecu De La Noverie made a winning stable debut last season beating the now 144 rated Mister Fisher over hurdles. He then went chasing and has performed well with form figures of 32231 in that code. He is now rated 140 over fences but interestingly reverts back to hurdles for this race off a mark of 135.
Ecu De La Noverie has form on a wide variety of grounds and now with a few pounds in a hand over hurdles he should run well with four places on offer.
2:30 Cheltenham- Cogry 11/2 (0.5pt ew)
Cogry has a good record at Cheltenham with three wins there including a win in this race last season. That came off a mark of 139 where he showed a fantastic attitude to beat Singlefarmpayment by a head.
Cogry made a brilliant reappearance when 3rd at this course behind The Conditional who has since boosted the form in the Ladbrokes Trophy. With four places on offer, he looks sure to be involved in the finish.
3:05 Cheltenham- Easysland 9/2 (1pt ew)
There are slight question marks about the Enda Bolger trained runners at the top of the market so a chance is taken on the French trained Easysland. Yanworth has to prove that the 3m6f trip is within reach for him and Josies Orders hasn’t had his conventional prep runs for this race so the Cottin trained runner who is bidding for a five timer is the selection.
Easysland is usually held up in his races which is well suited to these races and if he copes with his first start in the UK then he should run well with five places on offer.
