David Law To Win

£20 bet returns £420 with Betvictor

Main Bet: David Law

Several players were appealing, but I believed their odds were too low: Garrick Porteous has adored this course but would be someone you’d want at a higher price than this week. I’d have been intrigued to give Julien Guerrier a try but decided against it when I saw the prices. Callum Shinkwin also got close. Marcus Armitage has course form and has played well recently but it has been involved in far too many tournaments recently.

Instead, Scotsman David Law, who finished T33rd in his opening round on the course, is the first choice. Last year, when he finished top 10 all week, he added a tie for fourth place and finished 5th in SG Tee to Green.
The 31-year-old recently finished in the top 5 in the Irish Open, qualified for the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club (T47th), and played in the Open at the Old Course (T72nd).

In the first of those tests, which is quite similar to this week’s field, he was up against high caliber opposition, while the second test was further away.

Playing this kind of golf, he won the Scottish Amateur at Royal Troon , Western Gailles, the Tartan Tour at Murcar Links, and a second-tier event at Spey Valley, a quick course that is similar to this week’s modern linksy layout.
And in 2019, he earned his first victory at this level by winning the Vic Open at 13th Beach, which is a coastal course with links-like characteristics but not quite the actual deal.

Brandon Stone (Each-Way) To Win

£20 bet returns £175 (if placed) with Betvictor

Each Way Bet: Brandon Stone

We believe that South African Brandon Stone can provide the goods if going low.
Additionally, he was successful when playing by the water in Scotland in 2018, winning the Scottish Open at Gullane with a stunning 60.
In the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, he finished T15th and T10th, and he has experience on the course after being T16th back in 2020.
With two 72s, he almost missed the cut at the Scottish Open, but before that he tied for sixth at the European Open, finished T15th at the BMW International Open, and finished T46th at the Irish Open.
