Grand Sefton Handicap Chase Odds

The Grand Sefton Handicap Chase is hosted by Aintree racecourse at the beginning of December, normally the first Saturday. It has been run since 1865 but was stopped in 1965. It was re-introduced in 2003 and since then has grown in popularity. It is now one of the top National Hunt early-part-of-the-season races.

The horse race takes place on the first day of the Becher Meeting and it is over a distance of 2m, 5f and 110 yards. This handicap contest has delivered some great insights for the Grand National meeting in April. Forest Gunner, for instance, won the 2004 edition of the Sefton Handicap and then ended fifth in the following Grand National.
