This looks a fantastic renewal of the Gold Cup this year with Presenting Percy and Clan Des Obeaux joining a lot of the field from last year. The horse who I think looks overpriced though is Bristol De Mai for Nigel Twiston- Davies. The best two performances of his career have both come at Haydock in the Betfair Chase where he has won the last two renewals by 57 lengths and 4 lengths. His performance in the race this year was arguably a better performance though as it proved he can handle better ground and he beat four of his rivals easily who are all above him in the betting for this race.
Bristol De Mai has previous festival form given he finished 2nd in the 2016 JLT Chase before finishing 7th in the Gold Cup in 2017 when only a 6 year old. It looks that he is still improving as an eight year old and with four places on offer he looks the overpriced horse in the line-up.
