Germany v Argentina Tips & Predictions
9th October 2019 – 19:45
Match Preview & Team News
Signal-Iduna-Park will play host to a high-profile friendly between Germany and Argentina on Wednesday evening. The Germans are looking ahead of a competitive affair against Estonia four days later in the Euro 2020 Qualifications, which is why we’d not be surprised to see Joachim Low mixing up his squad a bit here.
Germany are doing well in the qualifying campaign as they top the group with four wins and a loss in the opening five games. They managed an important 0-2 victory away against Northern Ireland a month ago and have already played the Netherlands twice so far. It means a win over Estonia would further push the Germans towards one of the top-two finish in the group.
It will be very interesting to see Marc-Andre ter Stegen between the posts after the whole saga with his place in the starting line-up at the expense of Manuel Neuer. Argentina will be without their star man Lionel Messi who is still suspended after the red card in the third-place play-offs against Chile at Copa America. Los Gauchos will also be without a number of familiar names such as Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain, Mauro Icardi, etc.
Serie A duo Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala are expected to lead the line for Argentina here. They were both on target at the weekend’s Derby d’Italia. Martinez scored a goal against Barcelona seven days ago in the Champions League as well.
Germany eliminated Los Gauchos in three consecutive World Cups, including the 1-0 victory in the 2014 final on the Brazilian soil. However, Argentina claimed four wins and a draw in the last five friendlies a 2-4 victory in September 2014.
Full Time Winner Odds & Prediction
Argentina did well in the latest friendlies against Die Mannschaft and we notice the value in backing them to avoid a defeat at the odds of 9/10.
Goals Market Prediction
The value is enormous with in-form Lautaro Martinez to score anytime for Los Gauchos at the odds of 3/1.
