Following two frustrating second placed finishes yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Friday 7th June. P&L +74.72pts.
3:35 Brighton- Fair Power 9/4 (1pt)
John Butler trained runners are often hard to trust but it looks significant that Oisin Murphy keeps the partnership with Fair Power in this race. He has won off marks as high as 78 in 2017 and therefore looks extremely well handicapped off a mark of 56.
Fair Power finished 2nd over this C&D last time and is lucky to race off the same mark given that he was only beaten a length at the finish. Oisin Murphy is riding unbelievably well at the moment and hopefully Fair Power can go one better than last time.
6:55 Haydock- Madrinho 10/1 (0.5pt ew)
Madrinho won a handicap at Kempton off a mark of 76 less than 12 months ago and he has now dropped down to a below that for the first time since. He ran well twice on the AW at Wolverhampton and Leicester to finish 2nd and 3rd off a mark of 77 earlier this calendar year and ran better than the 6th placed finish suggests at Newmarket last time.
Madrinho was slow away under Elisha Whittington before making some late headway to finish 6th. He has been dropped 2lb for that effort down to a mark of 74 and with Franny Norton booked, a bold bid can be expected.
