After a disappointing neck second at 3/1 yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Friday 6th October. Oct P&L +12.00pts
2:00 Ascot- Shady McCoy 5/1 (1pt ew)
Shady McCoy finished second in this race by a nose two years ago off a mark of 84 and comes into this race off a mark of 85. In between those runs he has won at Goodwood off a mark of 87 and placed off marks of 90 and 89. He finished fourth in the Victoria Cup over C&D earlier this season and looks to be drawn well again in this race (Stall 17). Ryan Moore is booked for the first time on the horse and as he has been well backed since the market has opened, it looks as if he will be on a going day!
6:15 Chelmsford- Emilia James 10/3 (1pt)
Emilia James is 2/2 in her career when being able to lead and hopefully she can win the early pace duel with favourite Expecting early on. Chelmsford is a course that favours front runners and that was the case when she won a novice race here earlier on this season by 3 ¼ lengths. She came second last time over 5f in a nursery when just appearing to be outpaced by the winner so a step up to 6f looks a good move. Franny Norton is a fantastic jockey on front runners and is a confident selection against a favourite who has never ran at the unique track.
