Following 4/1 and 11/4 winners yesterday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Friday 26th April. P&L +27.53pts.
1:50 Sandown- Masaru 15/2 (0.5pt ew)
As highlighted on the On The Hunt Podcast this week, it is very rare these days for Richard Hannon to train a first time out winner. That made the 4 length victory by Masaru on debut all the more impressive beating the 87 rated Indian Sounds back in third. Everything went wrong in the valuable sales race at York on his next start when he was slowly away and got hampered but he made a winning reappearance at Kempton16 days ago.
Masaru makes his handicap debut off a mark of 91 and looks sure to go well with Ryan Moore on board with four places on offer.
8:00 Chepstow- Billy My Boy 7/1 (0.5pt ew)
Billy My Boy won this race in 2017 off a mark of 105 and makes his first appearance back at the track now off a mark of 109. He returns off a break of 254 days but was in good form prior to that with a 2nd and a win at Newton Abbott off a mark of 104.
Billy My Boy won despite idling late on last time so the 5lb rise could be lenient and given we know he has form in this race and will like the good ground, hopefully he won’t lack for fitness on his comeback.
