Following an 11/8 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Friday 19th April. P&L +26.34pts.
1:50 Bath- Global Prospector 6/5 (1pt)
This looks a two horse race on paper but preference has to be for the recent form of Global Prospector. He was impressive when winning at Wolverhampton on debut where the son of Scat Daddy by over 3 lengths at the finish in good style. He still has to prove he can transfer that ability onto turf but The Cruising Lord faces for question marks in my opinion. The Cruising Lord looks to have been flattered by his 4th place finish in a Group 3 at Newmarket and is making his reappearance in this race.
Despite a 7lb penalty in the race, Global Prospector looks the one to beat.
3:20 Newcastle- Magic J 9/2 (1pt ew)
Magic J made a striking debut at Yarmouth last season when he won readily over 6f by 1 ¼ lengths at the finish. The form doesn’t look overly strong but it was the manner of his victory that impressed that day.
Connections, who won this race with Gronkowski last season, think that Magic J is a possible 2000 Guineas horse and only missed the Greenham Stakes because of the soft ground. If he is to prove up to that level then he should prove hard to beat here in a race where one bookmaker is offering four places on the race.
4:45 Lingfield- Keyser Soze 5/1 (0.5pt ew)
Keyser Soze is a progressive five year old who completed an AW hat-trick over the winter. The last of those victories came in a Class 2 handicap off a mark of 101 for which he has been raised 4lb for. He runs in this conditions race with a few pounds to find on the favourite Oh This Is Us but looks the horse who is open to the most improvement.
With one bookmaker offering four places on the race, Keyser Soze is a confident each way selection in the race.
