Following a couple of well backed disappointments yesterday, Steve Ryder previews three races on Friday 15th February. P&L+17.51pts.
1:20 Sandown- Darebin 7/1 (0.5pt ew)
Darebin is duel C&D winner off marks of 118 and 119 with his most recent win coming on his penultimate start. He ran well on his last start which was over this C&D when he came 5th despite running 5lb out of the handicap.
Darebin runs here off a mark of 123 which is 4lb higher than his latest victory but with the booking of 10lb claimer Niall Houlihan for this race, he should go well.
3:00 Sandown- Rathlin Rose 10/3 (1pt)
Rathlin Rose has fantastic course form at Sandown and has won this race for the last two seasons under Guy Disney. In 2017 he won off a mark of 128, last year off 126 and he runs in the race this year off a mark of 128.
Rathlin Rose has had a very similar prep to the last two years and with this race no doubt his target all season, he should prove hard to beat.
4:15 Lingfield- Tralee Hills 4/1 (1pt ew)
Elysees Palace is the odds on favourite for this race and is a stereotypical Sir Mark Prescott horse who runs up a sequence once switched to handicaps over a longer trip. However, he has only won by ½ length and ¾ length this season before struggling with a 6lb rise last time when beaten as an 8/13 favourite. He had no excuses that day and I believe he is worth taking on with Tralee Hills.
Tralee Hills finished 3rd at Kempton 41 days ago in a strong contest behind Nylon Speed and Dutch Uncle, with the latter winning since, and has actually been dropped 1lb for that run. He looks worth backing each way against the favourite.
