After a winner on Thursday, Steve Ryder previews two races on Friday 11th August. P&L +7.39pts.
4:50 Wolverhampton- Sir Lancelott 5/1 (1pt ew)
Adrian Nicholls saddles his first runner as a trainer in this race after taking over from his late father Dandy Nicholls. Sir Lancelott is a 3 time C&D winner (from 4 wins) and is now back down to below his last winning handicap mark. He has won previously off marks of 59, 59, 61 and 60 and following a couple of disappointing runs he has dropped down to a mark of 59. With a good 5lb claimer on board, Sir Lancelott should have a big chance of getting his new trainer off to a winning mark.
7:25 Tipperary- Breezolini 15/2 (1pt ew)
Breezolini was off between November 2015 and June 2017 but her 4 runs for her new trainer, Adrian Joyce, have been excellent. She returned with a 4th place finish at 25/1 before a 5th place finish at Fairyhouse off a mark of 49. She then ran a superb race to finish 2nd at Gowran when stepped up to 7f and then ran an even better race when finishing an unlucky 4th at Down Royal last time. She travelled really well in behind rivals before not having a clear run 2f out. She was then hampered inside the final furlong when making a race winning challenge before being eased close home to finish 4th. Although she has been raised 8lb this season without winning, she has previously won off a mark of 72 compared to the rating of 59 that she runs off in this race. With Bet365 offering 4 places and the biggest price on Breezolini, I recommend backing her ew as I cannot see her out of the frame.
