Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Betting Preview & Tips
Day 2 – Wednesday 11th March 2019 – 4.50pm – Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle – Grade 3 – 2m110y
This race was called in the past the Fred Winter and due to sponsorship for this renewal will be called the Boodles Juvenile Hurdle. Is a race that has been defined as the ‘best of the rest’ between the four-year-old hurdling division as it comes after the Grade 1 JBC Triumph Hurdle. It remains a very intriguing contest with a maximum field of 22. Difficult for punters, as everything can happen in those circumstances. This race has a nasty habit of producing big-priced winners with statistics that tend to be unhelpful. With only one favourite that has been placed in six of the last ten renewals, it is clear to see how difficult it is to get it right here. Six of the previous eight winners have prevailed at odds of 25/1 and 33/1.
Gordon Elliot, who knows what it takes to perform well here, has two intriguing contenders in Aramax and Tronador while Paul Nicholls is also targeting a trophy with the likes of Thyme White and Mick Pastor. Both those are very well respected recent winners.
Our Bet: BLACKO
Our choice is, however, Blacko who looked very good when winning both starts under Alan King and has the right profile for this race.
Our Verdict: Blacko

Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle History
The Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle is a Cheltenham Festival race that is open to novice hurdlers over a distance of 2 miles and half a furlong. There are eight hurdles to negotiate, and usually, this race attracts a very competitive field.
This is one of the latest addition to the Cheltenham Festival as it was established only in 2005. It was one of the races added to extend the Festival over four days. There hasn’t been jockey or trainers that have won this context twice. One of the most remarkable won was in 2010 when Paul Nicholl-trained Sanctuaire won off a weight of 11st 2lb. Ruby Walsh was on board at that time.
