Teams Already Qualified for Euro 2020
Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine.
Final Fixtures: Netherlands v Estonia, Germany v Northern Ireland (Tuesday 19th)
Both Germany and the Netherlands have already secured a place at next year’s Euro 2020 finals. The order in Group C can still change depending on the last matches. Germany will win the group if they can defeat Northern Ireland, while Netherlands will need to beat Estonia and hope for an unlikely German slip up.
After drawing at home on Saturday against Netherlands, Northern Ireland cannot qualify via the Group Stage but they do still have a chance as they have qualified to a play-off as next best-ranked team in Nations League B. The same applies to Belarus who have ended in 4th place but are UEFA Nations League Group D2 winner.
Final Fixtures: Republic of Ireland v Denmark, Gibraltar v Switzerland (Monday 18th)
After all those matches, Group D is still incredibly open. Three nations are still hoping to qualify, and the final matches on Monday will clear out any uncertainty.
Group leaders Denmark will qualify if they manage to get a draw against Ireland in Dublin. The Danes will also be in the next Euro 2020 finals if they lose by one goal and Switzerland doesn’t beat Gibraltar. The Danes will also qualify if Swiss will lose against Gibraltar.
Switzerland, who are in 2nd place, will qualify if they manage to avoid a defeat against Gibraltar, or if Ireland doesn’t beat Denmark. Republic of Ireland will make it if they beat Denmark by at least two goals or if they win by one goal and Switzerland will not draw with Gibraltar.
Denmark, Switzerland and Ireland would still have a chance to qualify for the Euro 2020 Finals via the playoffs regardless of what happens on Monday. Even 4th place Georgia will join them in the play-off after winning their UEFA Nations League Group D1.
Final Fixtures: Wales v Hungary, Slovakia v Azerbaijan (Tuesday 19th)
2018 World Cup finalists Croatia have already secured a place to the next tournament after winning Group E. Wales and Hungary will go head to head in Cardiff on Tuesday night in a match that will decide the runners-up in this group.
Hungary are in the second position at the moment, and they will keep that if they beat Wales or if they draw and 3rd place Slovakia will not beat Azerbaijan.
Wales will be in the next summer’s Euro 2020 Finals if they beat Hungary in Cardiff. Slovakia will qualify if they defeat Azerbaijan and Wales and Hungary share one point.
Hungary, Wales and Slovakia have all secured a play-off place so they would still have another chance to qualify for the tournament if they miss out on Tuesday night.
